Where is the retreat located?

 

The retreat will take place at D’Alijo Retreat Center in Northern Portugal, nestled in the lush mountains near the village of Cabeceiras de Basto.

How do I get there?

 

You’ll fly into the Porto International Airport (OPO).

From there, it's approximately an hour drive to the retreat center.

We will arrange group shuttles for an additional charge for ease of transport or you are welcome to utilize private transportation options. 

 

Is airport transportation included?

 

For flexibility, airport transportation is optional. For those who opt in, we will organize group shuttles to and from the airport on check-in and check-out days.

Airport transport arranged by us is an additional $60. 

 

If you are arriving in Portugal early or staying late after the retreat, we recommend arranging your own transport. 

 

What time should I arrive and depart?

 

Plan to arrive at D’Alijo Retreat Center on August 1st for 3:00 pm check-in and opening circle. Check out is at 11:00 am on August 7th after breakfast and closing circle. Remember it takes one hour to get to the retreat center and you'll likely have to move through customs upon entry in the country. So plan accordingly. 

 

If you are utilizing the arranged shuttles from the airport, we recommend the following arrival and departure times from the airport: 

 

  • Arrival in Porto (OPO) on Friday, August 1 between 10:00am - 1:30pm local time.

  • Departure from Porto (OPO) on Friday, August 7 between 2:00pm - 6:00pm local time.

What is the weather like in Northern Portugal this time of year? 

 

In August, Porto, Portugal is warm, sunny, and dry. 

Highs range from 77–85°F (25–29°C) with lows ranging from 60–65°F (15–18°C).

Accommodations + Food

What are the rooms like?

​

Each room is spacious, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed, with options for single or shared occupancy. All rooms have access to outside verandas with undisturbed views of the area and premises. Check out this link for more room photos and details. 

 

Can I choose my roommate?

 

Yes! If you’re coming with a friend or partner, let us know and we’ll pair you. Otherwise, we’ll match you with a roommate based on shared preferences. 

 

What kind of meals are provided?

 

At Intuitive Return, we’ll be nourished with beautifully prepared vegetarian and vegan meals by the onsite chefs at D’Alijo Retreat Center. The kitchen takes great care in using clean, high-quality ingredients, free from MSG and artificial flavor enhancers. Salt and sugar are used mindfully, with sweeteners limited to unrefined cane sugar or wild honey harvested directly from their own organic hives.

Whenever possible, fruits and vegetables come straight from the retreat’s garden and trees, and additional ingredients are sourced from trusted local farmers. Everything is prepared with cold-pressed oils and a deep respect for both flavor and well-being.

​

There are always plenty of wheat-free options available, and the kitchen is happy to accommodate most dietary needs, just let us know your preferences when you register, and we’ll make sure you feel well cared for.

What is provided at the retreat center? 

​

D’Alijo accommodates you with everything you need to have a special and comfortable stay, WiFi in the rooms, bed linens, bath and pool towels, shampoos and shower gels, umbrellas, yoga props: mats, blocks, belts, bolsters, hot yoga towels and vegetarian-vegan meals are included. 

​

Alcohol and Drug Policy 

​

Alcohol will be provided during optional winery excursions only, using the rest of the time to savor the wellness created at the retreat. 

Recreational drugs are not permitted. Illegal activities will lead to immediate eviction by local authorities.

Will there be snacks/tea/coffee available?

 

Yes! Coffee, tea and mineral water are available during breakfast. You’ll have access to nourishing herbal teas and fresh fruit throughout the day. 

Retreat Experience + Skill Level

Do I need to be experienced at yoga asana?

 

This retreat is open to all humans. Modifications and support will be offered in every class, however it is helpful to have a foundational yoga practice. 

 

How physically intense is the retreat?

 

You’ll experience a blend of dynamic and restful practices. 

There’s space for rest, stillness, and personal choice throughout the day. Nothing is mandatory.

Booking + Payment

How much does the retreat cost?

​

The deposit to secure your spot on this retreat is $600. This goes towards the total cost of your package. 

 

After that, pricing depends on your room type and the date of your registration. We’d love for you to register early and secure your spot, and we’ll give you a discount code if you do! 

 

Use discount code “ROOT” for 20% off until October 10th, 2025. 

 

After that, use code “HEART” for 10% off until February 15th, 2026. 

 

Price ranges from $2,600 - $4,800. You can choose the price and room type that suits your needs. 

 

Is there a payment plan available?

 

Yes! We offer flexible payment plans to make this retreat more accessible. You can secure your spot with a deposit and spread the rest out over time. 

 

We will have 4 payment reminders scheduled on September 1st, December 1st, March 1st, and June 1st in equal increments. These are NOT auto billed so you can adjust these payments as you need or pay in full! 

 

What’s the cancellation policy?

 

We understand life happens. We’ve tried to create a cancellation policy that makes room for the unexpected, while still honoring the commitment of the retreat hosts. 

 

Deposits are non-refundable. You can receive a refund for the rest of your payments up to 60 days prior to the start of the retreat. We strongly encourage the use of travel insurance. 

 

In the unlikely event of the retreat being canceled, all money paid will be fully refunded. Notification of cancellation for this reason will occur at least 1 month prior to retreat start date. We, as the retreat facilitators, Sydney Clemens and Izzy Martens, cannot be held responsible for any personal expenses, such as airline tickets due to changes in itineraries or retreat cancellations. By paying the deposit you are agreeing to the cancellation policy.

What else? 

Can I come alone?

 

Absolutely. Many of our retreat guests come solo and leave with lifelong friends. We intentionally foster connection and community from the start. 

 

Is this retreat just for women?

​

Nope. All gender identities are welcome. Our aim is to create a safe, inclusive space for deep connection and embodiment. We ask that all retreat guests are 18+ years old. 

 

Will there be free time?

 

Yes. While the schedule is rich and soul-nourishing, you’ll have spacious chunks of free time each day for napping, journaling, hiking, or just being. There will also be intentional periods of quiet time, in case you’ve had a creative project you’ve been wanting to work on, a book to read, or a nap to take. 

 

Is there WiFi or phone service?

 

There is WiFi on-site, but we encourage unplugging. This retreat is an invitation to disconnect from tech and reconnect with yourself. 

 

What should I pack?

 

Once you register, we’ll send a full packing list with suggested clothing, yoga gear, journal prompts, and optional ritual items. All yoga mats and props will be provided, no need to lug them through the airport!
